Drama unfolded at Tatu City, Kiambu County, after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) arrested a 26-year-old man accused of pulling off a daring cyber heist.The suspect, identified as 

Seth Mwabe, is a former Meru University student who dropped out before completing his studies. According to investigators, Mwabe allegedly hacked into a leading betting firm’s system and siphoned a staggering

 KSh 11.4 million 

, money which he then spent living large.

Sources reveal that the young man had been on the DCI’s radar for weeks after the betting company raised alarms over suspicious withdrawals. He is said to have used sophisticated software and fake accounts to disguise the transactions.

Detectives trailed him to his lavish hideout at Tatu City, where he was nabbed and taken into custody. Reports indicate that part of the stolen cash had already been blown on luxury items, flashy gadgets, and high-end living.

His arrest has sparked mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans questioning how a university dropout managed to outsmart a multi-million shilling firm’s security systems, while others described him as “a wasted genius.”

Mwabe is expected to face multiple charges, including

 computer fraud, obtaining money by false pretenses, and theft
